Whether it's a dog, cat, horse or a deer out in the wild. Animals are special to us. They provide unconditonal love, bring joy into our hearts and make the world a brighter place. This is a place where I share my thoughts on sustainability, healthy eating, raising food with a conscious, nature, animals, pets, book reviews and more. My kitty Dexter started out having symptoms last week of being unable to urinate. We tried antibiotics and changing his food and he still couldn't go on his own so I ended up taking him into the vet for overnight care. Our veterinarian is wonderful. She has a heart of gold and loves animals. After continuously trying to catheterize him with no success the decision has been made to do an emergency surgery called P U. today.
Dexter is only 2 1/2 years old and very healthy. He's had no health issues and has never shown any symptoms before. We changed the food we are feeding all three of our cats to support urinary health.
Please keep Dexter in your thoughts and send him your healing energy.
Thanks everyone. I'll keep you posted on his recovery.
Has anyone else had a cat go through this? Do you recommend any particular kind of cat food.
I've got Science Diet and Purina Pro Plan both designed for urinary health.
Any tips for his recovery process?
